Professional Membership
- Any professional member from the Tourism, Hospitality, or Supporting Industries with a minimum of two years’ experience in the industry is eligible.
- A professional member in good standing shall have full voting rights.
- Professional members may display the official THIPA logo on their member jackets as a mark of recognition.
- The THIPA logo may not be used on business stationery or cards unless the member is registered as a Corporate Member.
Academic/Youth Membership
- Once registered as a student member, you may apply for Associate or Junior Membership. Upon graduation and entry into the industry, you will become eligible to apply for Full Membership after two years of professional experience.
- After two consecutive years of uninterrupted membership, you must apply and undergo an assessment to qualify for an automatic upgrade to Professional Membership.
- Associate/Youth Members in good standing will receive full voting rights after five years of continuous membership.
Junior Membership
This membership is designated for trainees, apprentices, and students currently studying under Student Associate Membership. Junior members shall be recognized for participation in tourism and hospitality training programs both locally and internationally.
Junior members do not have voting rights but remain fee-paying members of the association until after five years.
Associate Membership
Associate Membership is a non-voting, fee-paying membership category designed for individuals who are not yet eligible for full membership but have a keen interest in a professional career in tourism and hospitality.
b) Associate Members do not have voting rights and cannot hold elected national office until they have maintained membership for five years.
This category includes individuals in training, such as waiters, trainee chefs, barmen, premises managers, and those undergoing training in Food & Beverage, Production, Front Office, Housekeeping, or any other related tourism and hospitality fields.
Life-Time Membership
At the Annual General Meeting (AGM), senior Tourism and Hospitality professionals or members who have made outstanding contributions to the industry and the association may be appointed as Life Members.
This membership is honorary and exempt from all contributions, typically granted to elderly and retired professionals. Life Members may also serve as advisors to the industry upon request.
